Superior Military Tribunal maintains conviction of ex-soldier and clerk for fraud in rifle purchase

The Superior Military Tribunal unanimously maintained the conviction of an ex-Army soldier and a civilian clerk involved in a fraud and bribery scheme in the registration of firearms in São Paulo. The decision followed the rapporteur's vote, Minister Carlos Augusto Amaral Oliveira.

The ex-soldier was sentenced to 4 years, 5 months, and 10 days in prison for the crime of passive corruption. The clerk received a sentence of 5 years in prison for the crime of active corruption.

The scheme involved irregularities in the registration of firearms, with the participation of both convicted individuals. The convictions were fully upheld by the military tribunal.
