The government decided to extend until the end of the year the ten cent per liter support for agricultural diesel. This measure aims to support national farmers in the context of rising production costs.
Fishermen will also be supported through EMFAF funds, the European Maritime, Fisheries and Aquaculture Fund. This funding comes as a way to compensate the fisheries sector for the increased fuel costs.
The support measure for agricultural diesel and the fisheries sector is related to the consequences of the Middle East conflict, which has been causing instability in fuel markets and price increases.
