The harvest in Madeira has already surpassed 2,335 tons of processed grapes, delivered by 826 producers to 11 economic operators. These data demonstrate the scale of the wine-producing campaign underway in the Region.
It is precisely during this harvest season that the Autonomous Region of Madeira is receiving the visit of the president of the Institute of Vine and Wine of the Azores, Cláudio José Gomes Lopes. The trip, which takes place today and tomorrow, was organized at the invitation of the president of the Institute of Wine, Embroidery and Handicraft of Madeira (IVBAM), Tiago Freitas.
The objective of this visit is to bring the two Portuguese archipelagos closer together in the wine sector. The Azorean delegation will have the opportunity to directly contact the reality of the sector in Madeira, closely learning about the processes and particularities of Madeiran production.
