The union of pre-hospital emergency technicians admits it may maintain the strike in protest against INEM, even after having received a counter-proposal from the institute. The position was stated by a union leader, who considered it necessary to analyze the proposal in detail before making a definitive decision.
The union is currently trying to schedule a new meeting with the Ministry of Health for this week. The objective is to continue negotiations and find a solution for the labor conflict that led to the paralysis of emergency services.
The tug-of-war between INEM and the workers arises in a context of growing tension in pre-hospital emergency services in Portugal, with professionals demanding better working and salary conditions.
