PSD rejected the motion of censure presented by Chega, defending that the country needs political stability. The social-democratic party does not want the fall of the Government and does not believe that Chega's initiative is the best solution for Portugal at this time.
PSD MP Francisco Figueira, elected for the Electoral Circle of Évora, spoke to Diana FM radio about the party's position. Despite considering the motion of censure a legitimate initiative from a democratic point of view, he believes it is not the right path for the country.
Figueira recalled the recent electoral history to argue that the priority should be different, not destabilizing the Executive. The MP emphasized that political stability must prevail over this type of opposition initiative.
