Temperatures reached 30 degrees in Funchal this Tuesday, September 8, maintaining the hot weather that has characterized the Madeira region. The Portuguese Institute of the Sea and the Atmosphere (IPMA) maintained the yellow warning due to persistent high values of maximum temperature.

The yellow warning covers the South Coast of Madeira and Porto Santo, where temperatures have remained above normal for this time of year. The IPMA warned of the possibility of a small rise in maximum temperature, especially in the highlands of the island.

The possibility of dust in suspension was also mentioned as one of the expected meteorological conditions for this period of hot weather in the region. The warning remains in effect as long as the anomalous heat conditions for the month of September persist.
