Fires: Thirty municipalities in six districts at maximum danger

Thirty municipalities in six districts of mainland Portugal are today at maximum danger of rural fire. The affected districts are Bragança, Guarda, Castelo Branco, Santarém, Portalegre and Faro.

The information was released by the Portuguese Institute of the Sea and the Atmosphere (IPMA), the body responsible for monitoring weather conditions and fire risk in the country.

Maximum danger represents the highest level of the risk scale used by IPMA, indicating extremely favorable conditions for the occurrence and spread of fires in the covered rural areas.
