The 23rd Police Precinct (Méier) opened an investigation into the case of a 15-year-old girl who jumped from a moving car in the neighborhood of Engenho de Dentro, in Rio de Janeiro's North Zone. The incident occurred last Friday, just before 8pm, and was captured by security cameras in the area.
According to the captured images, the girl was walking on the sidewalk of Rua Dona Romana with a backpack when she stopped next to a car with windows covered by dark tint film. The passenger side door opened and, in sequence, the teenager was pulled into the vehicle, which took off after a few moments.
In a second part of the video, it is possible to see the teenager jumping from the moving car, now without her backpack. The Civil Police is working with the hypothesis that the young girl may have jumped from the vehicle to flee an alleged kidnapping. The case is still under investigation.
