The Authority for Food and Economic Security (ASAE) seized more than 20 thousand liters of illegal wine during an inspection operation in Gouveia. The wine, which included red, white and rosé varieties, was already ready to be introduced to the market. The operation results from an inspection action aimed at detecting illicit practices in the wine sector. The total value of the seizure was not specified in the article. The seized products had labeling with various illegalities, notably the omission of the indication regarding the origin of the wine, which constitutes an infringement of the regulations in force for the commercialization of wine products. ASAE continues to reinforce inspections to ensure the compliance of food products marketed in Portugal.
