At least five people died in a runway overrun of an Amazon cargo plane at Miami International Airport, United States, this Sunday. The information was confirmed by local authorities, who have not yet disclosed the identity of the victims.

The aircraft in question exceeded the runway limit during approach to the airport. After leaving the runway, the plane crossed a road that was used by warehouse workers and other companies located in the vicinity of the airport.

Emergency teams were dispatched to the scene of the accident, but the number of fatalities has already been confirmed at at least five. Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the overrun.

This incident occurs in a context of growing Amazon air cargo activity, which has significantly expanded its fleet in recent years to support the company's delivery operations. Miami Airport is an important logistics hub on the east coast of the United States.
