A 56-year-old man and a 49-year-old woman were accused by the Public Prosecutor's Office of 44 crimes of aggravated sexual abuse against a 13-year-old minor. The accusation was filed within the scope of an investigation conducted by the 2nd Specialized Section of the Department of Investigation and Criminal Action.
The crimes are alleged to have been committed in joint authorship, meaning both defendants acted together. The minor lived with the couple in the Montemor-o-Novo area, which is believed to have facilitated the occurrence of the abuses over time.
The Public Prosecutor's Office filed the accusation against the two defendants, formalizing the suspicions that the sexual abuses were repeated multiple times, totaling 44 crimes. The case involves aggravating circumstances, given the victim's age and the position of trust that the aggressors occupied.
