Diário de Viseu7 September 2026 at 17:45

A young man was placed in preventive detention on suspicion of having killed his 73-year-old grandmother in the Setúbal region. The crime is believed to have occurred inside the house, where the elderly woman's body was found.

The GNR was alerted by locals and family members who informed the authorities about the elderly woman's death. The authorities went to the scene and confirmed that the victim had been stabbed.

The main suspect of the crime is the victim's grandson, a young man who allegedly stabbed his grandmother. The authorities proceeded with his arrest and, after a judicial interrogation, the most severe precautionary measure was applied.

The motives that led the young man to kill his grandmother remain unknown. The investigation is being carried out by the competent authorities, who have not yet provided further details about the circumstances of the crime.
