Postal do Algarve6 September 2026 at 20:00

Several locations in Portugal will face water supply cuts or disruptions during the week of September 7 to 11, 2020. The scheduled interventions include pipe repairs, maintenance and sanitization of reservoirs, network renewal and other works, covering different regions of the country. The notices were published by municipal councils, municipal services and entities responsible for water supply, and the scheduled times may be subject to changes depending on the progress of the works.

On Monday, the longest interruptions are scheduled for Gafanha da Encarnação, in the municipality of Ílhavo, with a nine-hour interruption between 9:00 AM and 6:00 PM due to network renewal on Rua da Fonte, Beco da Fonte and Rua do Emigrante. Also on Monday, Vilamoura will face a six-hour interruption, Estoril and Gavião will have eight-hour cuts, and Algés and Linda-a-Velha, in Oeiras, will experience interruptions between 10:00 PM and 7:00 AM the following day due to a SIMAS intervention.

Throughout the week, the municipality of Moita will be particularly affected, with multiple interventions on the elevated reservoirs of Gaio, Alto do Facho, Baixa da Banheira and Vale da Amoreira, causing decreased pressure and temporary interruptions. On Tuesday, Tejo Ambiente will carry out reservoir cleaning in Asseiceira and Charneca da Peralva, in the municipality of Tomar, and on Wednesday several locations in this same municipality will be affected by reservoir sanitization. On Friday, maintenance of the Supported Reservoir of Amiais de Baixo, in the municipality of Santarém, is scheduled.

As of the survey carried out on Sunday, no scheduled cuts had been confirmed for Saturday or Sunday. However, new notices may arise during the week or unforeseen interruptions may occur due to pipe bursts and other incidents.
