On the third day of Rock in Rio, the festival faced heavy rain at the City of Rock, which resulted in the formation of puddles and a slipperier floor. As a result, cases of falls and sprains among participants increased. The Medical Station, located next to the Sunset Stage, treated several patients with this type of occurrence since last Friday, the 3rd.
In addition to the rain-related falls, the station also recorded injuries from playful activities and from alcohol and medication consumption. Participants in the so-called "punk pit circles" usually arrive at the location with facial injuries or complaining about falls. On Saturday (5), a man suffered an eye injury after being hit during a circle pit that was taking place at the Mundo Stage, during the festival's Metal Day.
Anxiety and panic attacks were also reported by patients arriving at the unit, many coming from areas of large crowds. The symptoms presented include palpitations, sweating and dizziness.
