The Portuguese Institute of the Sea and Atmosphere (IPMA) today raised from 14 to 17 the number of districts on mainland Portugal under yellow alert until 21:00. This update represents an increase in meteorological surveillance in several regions of the country. The district of Viana do Castelo is the exception, not being covered by this yellow alert. The yellow alert is the lowest level of meteorological warning, indicating conditions that may represent some risk for certain activities.
