Pedro Sousa says there is a player who will never play for Benfica again while Marco is coach
Richard Ríos left Benfica and joined Al Ittihad on loan. After all the document exchange during the early hours of Wednesday, the loan of the Colombian international was officially announced later in the day. Pedro Sousa states that the "cafetero" has no chances at the Club while Marco Silva is the coach.
P. Sousa: "It is unlikely that Richard Ríos will be a Benfica player with Marco Silva"
"First: I have difficulty believing that, in a year's time, Ríos has valued himself in Saudi Arabia to the point that Benfica recovers the investment made. Second: it is unlikely that Benfica will change coaches again in a year, whether the season goes well or badly. Third: given these two premises, it is unlikely that Richard Ríos will be a Benfica player with Marco Silva", he said on the NOW channel.
The deal was closed after some reluctance on the part of the player himself. Ríos, however, gave the green light to the move and accepted the project presented by the Saudi club. The midfielder will be loaned until the end of the season.
