The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Ponta Delgada (CCIPD) revealed that it is undertaking initiatives with several entities to improve the operation of João Paulo II Airport in low visibility situations. CCIPD is in contact with NAV Portugal, responsible for air navigation management, and with ANA – Aeroportos de Portugal, which manages airport infrastructure. The objective of these initiatives is also directed at the Regional Government of the Azores, which holds competencies in the region. The actions aim to ensure better operational conditions at the airport in Ponta Delgada when low visibility situations occur, which can affect the normal functioning of air connections in the region.
