The Intermunicipal Community of Terras de Trás-os-Montes promoted, on September 3, an exchange trip to Spain within the framework of the cross-border project Agro_Hub, which aims to strengthen the business ecosystem linked to agricultural productions and enhance the endogenous resources of the territory. The initiative, called AgroTrip, brought together over two dozen participants, including producers, representatives of associations and other entities connected to the agri-food sector.
Participants traveled to Guijuelo and Salamanca, where they had direct contact with projects, technologies and working methods applied to agri-food production and processing. The programme included a visit to the Meat Technology Station of the Agricultural Technological Institute of Castile and León, where solutions in the areas of research, innovation, quality and food safety were presented, as well as a visit to a facility dedicated to ham production.
The trip concluded with a visit to SALAMAQ 2026, in Salamanca, one of the main fairs dedicated to the Spanish agricultural and livestock sector, bringing together producers, companies and technological solutions for agriculture, livestock farming and rural development.
With this action, the CIM of Terras de Trás-os-Montes aims to strengthen ties with sector agents, promote the sharing of experiences and create new opportunities for innovation and enhancement of local productions. The Agro_Hub project is co-funded by the Interreg Spain–Portugal Programme.
