Volta System strengthened in cafés, restaurants and hotels with 12 kiosks

The Volta System, responsible for the Deposit and Refund System (SDR), announced the installation of six new packaging collection kiosks in Portuguese territory. The new locations include Albufeira, Barcelos, Cascais, Funchal, Ponta Delgada and Vila Nova de Famalicão.

SDR Portugal is the entity responsible for managing and operating this deposit and refund system. The main objective is to facilitate packaging recycling in the restaurant and hospitality sectors.

With this expansion, the Volta System strengthens its presence in cafés, restaurants and hotels, allowing these establishments to participate more actively in recyclable packaging collection. The system enables consumers to deposit their packaging at kiosks and receive the deposit value back.

The six new kiosks join the existing network of collection points, expanding the system's coverage in Portugal and contributing to environmental sustainability goals.
