Ibama authorizes Petrobras to expand activities in the Foz do Amazonas Basin

Ibama authorized on Thursday (4) Petrobras to expand activities in the Foz do Amazonas Basin, on the Equatorial Margin. The technical team of the environmental agency issued the amendment to the Operating License for block FZA-M-59, releasing the drilling of three additional wells off the coast of Amapá: Manga, PAD Morpho and Crotalus. The decision was signed by the institute's president, Jair Schmitt.

The measure releases the execution of the complete project designed by the state company in 2021, when the Environmental Impact Study called for the opening of up to four wells in the region — one firm and three contingent. In October 2025, Ibama had granted the license only for the first well, called Morpho, keeping the review of the other three on hold until now.

The new development came after Petrobras sent additional documentation to the environmental agency. With the decision, the state company may continue with the oil exploration plan in the Equatorial Margin region, expanding the operations that had already begun with the drilling of the Morpho well.

Glovo changes hands in Portugal: are there changes for customers? Company clarifies doubts

The Glovo delivery platform in Portugal is expected to change hands in the context of operations announced between Uber, Delivery Hero and SSW Partners. The Portuguese activity will be transferred to SSW Partners as an independent business separate from Uber, unlike what happens in other markets. This transfer is dependent on the completion of Uber's voluntary public offer to acquire Delivery Hero, valued at approximately 12.77 billion euros, whose completion is expected in the second half of 2027. Delivery Hero guarantees that, until the processes are concluded, there will be no changes in the way Glovo operates in Portugal, and that customers can continue to use the application normally.
