The District Command for Relief Operations of Braga issued a First Alert Dispatch for rural fire incidents. The alert covers the parishes of Verim, Friande and Ajude, belonging to the municipality of Póvoa de Lanhoso, in the district of Braga.
The nature of the alert is classified as a brushfire, indicating a fire focused on vegetation. Authorities have mobilized means to combat the fire with 12 operatives deployed to the operation.
In terms of material resources, no ground means have been deployed to the location. However, two aircraft have been mobilized to support the firefighting efforts, suggesting this is a larger fire or one of difficult access by land.
The First Alert Dispatch is a pre-positioning mechanism for resources that allows authorities to act more quickly and coordinated in case of emergency, ensuring a more efficient response to risk situations.
