Volta System expanded in cafés, restaurants and hotels with 12 kiosks

The Volta System is being expanded in cafés, restaurants and hotels with the installation of 12 packaging collection kiosks. Six of these kiosks are already operational in several Portuguese locations.

The cities that already have the new collection points are Albufeira, Barcelos, Cascais, Funchal, Ponta Delgada and Vila Nova de Famalicão. The remaining kiosks will be installed shortly in other locations.

The goal of this expansion is to make it easier for consumers and hospitality professionals to return used packaging. The Volta System is a voluntary packaging deposit system that allows users to return bottles and other containers in exchange for an incentive.

This measure is part of a broader strategy to promote recycling and the circular economy in Portugal, making the necessary infrastructure for packaging waste separation and collection more accessible.
