The average values of the Social Insertion Income vary significantly between districts. According to Social Security data from March 2026, the district of Faro presents an average of 361.20 euros per household, while Beja reaches 483.70 euros, a difference of 122.50 euros monthly. These values represent an average 33.9% higher in Beja compared to Faro, but do not correspond to fixed amounts established for each territory.

The data is produced by the Institute of Informatics and released by the General Directorate of Coordination and Planning of the Ministry of Labour, Solidarity and Social Security. The entity itself warns that monthly data are provisional. The difference between territorial averages may result from the size of beneficiary households, the number of adults and minors, and the income accounted for in each case.

The RSI does not have a single value for all families. The calculation is national and depends on the composition and economic resources of each household. In 2026, the reference value is 247.56 euros, with 100% considered for the applicant, 70% for each additional adult, and 50% for each minor. A family composed of an applicant, one adult, and one child has, for example, a limit of 544.63 euros before deductions.

The RSI is intended for people in situations of extreme poverty and combines a monthly benefit with a social and professional integration programme. The benefit is granted for 12 months and automatically renewed. Changes in income or household composition may lead to recalculation. The current rules apply until 30 December 2026, the date from which the RSI will be integrated into the new Single Social Benefit.

The largest beachfront hotel owner in southern Europe looks to the stock market to continue growing

Hotel Investment Partners (HIP), the largest beachfront vacation hotel owner in southern Europe, is considering going public to continue growing. The real estate company, backed by the US giant Blackstone and Singapore's sovereign wealth fund GIC, is valued at between 6,000 and 6,500 million euros. The company was founded just over a decade ago within Banco Sabadell to solve a problem inherited from the crisis, when the bank received hotel exposure after acquiring the defunct Caja de Ahorros del Mediterráneo, choosing to keep the best assets, invest in them and capture the recovery of their value.
