The North region invested more than 600 million euros in Health and Education through the Recovery and Resilience Plan. This investment represents a significant milestone for the region.

The North region fulfilled all scheduled commitments under the RRP. This execution was described as excellent, demonstrating remarkable performance in the implementation of the planned projects.

The investment was distributed across Health and Education, sectors considered priority for economic and social recovery. The full execution of scheduled commitments demonstrates the achievement of the objectives established by the Recovery and Resilience Plan in the North region.

Volta Kiosks Arrive in Cascais and Six More Already Agreed with Local Authorities

The managing entity of the Deposit and Refund System (SDR), brand Volta, is reinforcing the packaging collection network outside supermarkets, with the opening of a new kiosk in Cascais, joining Albufeira, Barcelos, Funchal, Ponta Delgada and Vila Nova de Famalicão. In total, 12 kiosks are already contracted, with six more in the implementation phase for Almada, Aveiro, Mafra, Oeiras, Portimão and Vila do Conde. Destined mainly for the Horeca sector (restaurants, hotels, cafés), the kiosks allow returning large quantities of packaging at once, with capacity for about 120 packages per minute. SDR Portugal's goal is to reach 50 units distributed across 38 municipalities. The system, which launched in April, already has more than 3,000 automatic collection points and covers beverage packaging up to three liters, with a ten-cent deposit per package.
