Airports. ANAC reviews quality assessment criteria

ANAC (Autoridade Nacional da Aviação Civil) approved on August 31st changes to the quality assessment criteria for services provided at Portuguese airports. These changes come within the scope of a review of the service standards applicable to the airport sector.

The airports covered by these new rules are those of Lisbon, Porto, Faro, Funchal and Ponta Delgada, meaning the main airport infrastructures of mainland Portugal and the autonomous regions of the Azores and Madeira.

The implementation of the new standards proceeds in a phased manner, with the start scheduled for September. This gradual approach allows airport operators to progressively adapt to the new assessment requirements defined by the regulatory entity.
