The dust coming from North Africa is affecting air quality in Portugal, impacting the generality of the national territory. The situation is particularly severe in the Center and South regions of the country.
The Directorate-General for Health (DGS) issued advice to the vulnerable population, recommending that these people stay home during the period when dust levels remain elevated.
This natural phenomenon is expected to continue until Saturday, thus prolonging the period of poor air quality in several areas of Portuguese territory.
