The Directorate-General for Health issued a warning about the presence of dust particles from North Africa that are affecting Portuguese territory. The concentration of these atmospheric particles represents a health risk for the population, especially for more vulnerable groups.
The most affected regions are the Centre and South of the country. The situation is expected to continue until Saturday, prolonging the population's exposure to this abnormal atmospheric condition.
The DGS advises the most vulnerable populations, such as the elderly, children, people with chronic respiratory diseases, and people with cardiovascular problems, to stay home during this period. This recommendation aims to reduce exposure to the particles and protect the health of these higher-risk groups.
