IL accuses Azores Government of creating "artificially positive perception" about execution

The deputy from Iniciativa Liberal (IL) in the Azores, Nuno Barata, accused the Regional Government of creating "an artificially positive perception" about the execution of the Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR) in the region.

Barata warned that the true challenge regarding the PRR "begins after" the funding ends, suggesting that the financed projects may not remain financially viable without European support.

The accusation comes at a time when the Regional Executive has been highlighting the positive execution indicators of the PRR in the Azores, seeking to demonstrate effective management of the post-pandemic European recovery funds.

The theme of PRR execution has been the subject of political debate in the Azores, with the opposition questioning the long-term sustainability of investments made under this European plan.
