Protesters clash with police during conservative leaders' meeting in Chile

Hundreds of people took to the streets of Santiago, Chile, on Thursday, during the Madrid Forum, a gathering of conservative leaders. The protests were directed against the right-wing policies represented at the event.

Javier Milei, president of Argentina, and José Antonio Kast, a Chilean far-right politician, were participating in the meeting that brought together conservative leaders. The presence of these figures motivated the popular mobilization against what the protest organizers consider to be right-wing policies.

Chilean police intervened to disperse the protesters, using water cannons and tear gas. Several participants in the protest were arrested by authorities during the confrontations.
