The Socialist Party claims the legacy of the Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR) in the transformation of road infrastructure in the Alentejo. Socialist MP Luís Dias, elected for the constituency of Évora, considered "good news" the inauguration of the Eastern Variant of Évora on the IP2, but warned the current Government not to "politically appropriate" investments that, according to him, were decided, programmed and financed by PS Governments under the PRR.
Luís Dias emphasized that the work "did not start from scratch in 2024", recalling that the Eastern Variant was registered in the PRR and was part of the strategy to strengthen the road network in the region. The socialist argued that the investments now inaugurated are a direct result of decisions made by previous PS governments, which secured financing through the PRR. This position arises in the context of a political dispute over the paternity of infrastructure works that are transforming the Alentejo region.
