PCP calls for completion of IP2 section in Évora

Observador3 September 2026 at 11:42

The PCP demanded the completion of the IP2 section in Évora, highlighting that the new variant linking the Évora East node of the A6 to National Road 18 is not finished. The party's leadership in Évora considered that this infrastructure, which will have a significant length, is not completed.

The communist party stated that this is a "section abandoned under the Passos Coelho Government," referring to the period when Pedro Passos Coelho was prime minister of Portugal, between 2011 and 2015. During that government, the PCP understands that the project failed to progress.

The PCP's demand comes in the context of concerns about accessibility in the Évora region. The party considers that the completion of this IP2 section is fundamental to improving road connections in the Alentejo area.

The PCP has been pressuring authorities for the section in question to finally be completed, arguing that this is a priority project for the development of road infrastructure in the Évora region.
