A 33-year-old Spanish forest firefighter, Guillermo Carballo, was attacked by a swarm of common wasps on a farm in Quinzanas, Asturias, after already being stung twice by Asian hornets (velutina). The man ended up with a total of 27 stings all over his body and had to be admitted to the ICU at Hospital San Agustín in Avilés, where he is still recovering.
