One year after the Elevador da Glória tragedy, in Lisbon, Carlos Moedas, president of the Lisbon City Council, declared that the municipality "was always present" throughout the entire process.

These statements come the day after the disclosure, by RTP, of an open letter written in English by the families of the victims of the accident.

In the letter, the families accuse the Lisbon City Council of not providing adequate responses and of not maintaining contact with them since the tragedy.

The Elevador da Glória suffered an accident that resulted in fatalities, and the case prompted several investigations into the safety conditions of the equipment and the municipality's responsibilities.
