Milk producers from Terceira island expressed their discontent with a new reduction in the farmgate milk price. The Agricultural Association of Terceira Island (AAIT) considered that the industry once again lowered the price at a time when the lowest value in Europe was already being practiced.
The president of AAIT, José António Azevedo, was the voice who expressed this lament on behalf of the island's producers. The association represented the interests of the milk producers affected by this decision.
The situation is particularly concerning for local producers, who were already facing economic difficulties with the previously practiced prices. The new reduction further aggravates the financial pressure on the dairy sector of Terceira island.
