Milk Price Cuts Cost Producers 72 Million Euros in 2026

The milk price cuts will cost producers 72 million euros in 2026, according to the Association of Milk Producers of Portugal. This value represents the negative financial impact that producers will face with the new reduction in prices.

According to Aprolep, cooperatives associated with Lactogal communicated at the end of July a new decrease of 1.5 cents per liter in the producer price. This reduction takes effect from August 1.

The decrease affects the entire Portuguese mainland territory, meaning all milk producers on the mainland will be covered by this measure. The decision was made by cooperatives associated with Lactogal, which is one of the main companies in the dairy sector in Portugal.
