The Municipality of Águeda, led by mayor Jorge Almeida, will invest 6.6 million euros in creating a collective self-consumption community in the Casarão Business Park. The contract was awarded to the consortium led by dstsolar, a company of the dst group specializing in photovoltaic solutions, for the value of 6,638,006.05 euros. The project is integrated into the investment of the Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR) for New Generation Business Reception Areas.
The project will allow the 15 companies installed in the business park to produce, store, share and consume locally generated renewable energy. The installation of 15 energy production and storage units is planned, with an installed photovoltaic capacity of 9.31 MWp and 9 MWh of storage. The technology will make it possible to store surplus photovoltaic production for later use, increasing energy management flexibility.
The company b-again, also belonging to the dstgroup and specialized in energy storage solutions, will be responsible for the development and implementation of the battery system. The executive director of dstsolar, Sérgio Vieira, considered the project of "strategic relevance due to its scale, innovative nature and impact on the energy transition of the business sector".
With this intervention, the aim is to reduce dependence on the electricity grid and energy costs for companies, contribute to reducing the carbon footprint and strengthen the competitiveness of the business sector through the adoption of renewable and collaborative energy solutions.
