The growth of the Portuguese economy of at least 2% of GDP this year is practically guaranteed. The dynamism demonstrated by the economy in the second quarter, together with the most recent data, almost ensure compliance with the target established by the Government for 2024.
However, weak investment is beginning to emit warning signs. This fragility in the investment sector raises concerns about the sustainability of economic growth in the medium and long term.
The Portuguese economy thus demonstrates a positive performance in the short term, managing to achieve the projected growth objectives, but faces structural challenges that may compromise the continuity of this expansion rate.
