The specialist physician in pulmonology João Henrique Cordeiro da Costa formalized this Tuesday his integration into the Local Health Unit of Nordeste, through the signing of an individual indefinite-term employment contract. The ceremony was attended by the president of the board of directors, Miguel Abrunhosa, and the clinical director of hospital care, Rui Terras.
The hiring represents, according to ULS do Nordeste, an important reinforcement of the institution's healthcare capacity in a highly differentiated area and where there is recognized shortage of medical professionals.
It is expected that this integration will allow reinforcing the response in pulmonology, improving patients' access to specialized care and increasing the response capacity throughout the area of influence of ULS.
The institution emphasizes that it continues to invest in the attraction and retention of specialist doctors, seeking to strengthen the teams and guarantee an increasingly differentiated, close and adequate healthcare response to the needs of the population.
