The Tardes à Merceeiro take place at Largo da Fonte Nova, in Setúbal, between 6:30 PM and 9:00 PM, combining regional gastronomy with live music. The session on September 10 features a performance by singer Joana Lança and marks the closing of this year's edition, as the previously announced meeting for September 27 will not take place.
Among the gastronomic offerings, the Centenary Menu stands out, featuring cuttlefish salad, and the Mercearia Platter, which includes Azeitão cheese, semi-cured cheese, sausages, ham, jams, honey, and dried fruits. The savory offerings also include sardine with white bean purée, mackerel with chickpeas, octopus à moda da mercearia, well-prepared tripe, pica-pau à maneira antiga, and roasted Azeitão cheese with muscatel. For dessert, there is rice pudding, chocolate mousse, crème brûlée, and other sweets.
The menus cost 17 euros for the individual option and 30 euros for the double option, including a drink. Reservations can be made in person at Mercearia Confiança de Troino or through the Visit Setúbal website.
The Tardes à Merceeiro are in their sixth edition this year, integrated into the centenary celebrations of Mercearia Confiança de Troino, founded in 1926. The initiative aims to promote regional gastronomy and the memory of a historic space at Largo da Fonte Nova.
