The Stock-Off 2026 took place in Bustos, promoted by the Union of Parishes of Bustos, Troviscal and Mamarrosa. The event ran for three days and brought together local commerce, associations, entertainment and tradition.

One of the major novelties of this edition was the I Agricultural Tractor Ride, which managed to gather 115 participants. This initiative ended up standing out as one of the highlights of the event.

Stock-Off 2026 thus managed to combine elements of traditional commerce with entertainment and local tradition, creating a diversified event for the community.

Available places in the second phase of access to higher education rise to 11 thousand. See here the courses with places

The Ministry of Education announced that approximately 11,112 places are available in the second phase of the national higher education access competition in Portugal, an increase from the initial 6,639, due to 4,512 students placed in the first phase who did not enroll. Among the courses with available places are Medicine at the University of Coimbra (5 places), Medicine at Nova University of Lisbon (1 place), and Law at the University of Lisbon (57 places). The course with the most places is Computer Engineering at the Polytechnic Institute of Bragança, with 74 places. Applications are open until September 20th and results will be announced on September 30th, with approximately 2,302 candidates already registered, 17.9% fewer than the previous year.

ICNF authorizes new request to cull deer after chestnut groves destroyed

ICNF responded to a clarification request from Luther agency informing that a new request to correct deer density may be submitted in the municipal hunting area of Cova de Lua, in the Montesinho Natural Park, after chestnut producers complained of recurring losses in the groves. The Espinhosela Parish Council had requested the culling of two deer, but only one male was authorized for culling, which they considered insufficient. The institute clarified that all density correction requests have been authorized and that, in addition to culling, there are preventive measures available, although damage caused by game species is the responsibility of the titular entities. The council stated it has no funds to pay compensation.
