The Fair of Light/EXPOMOR 2026 takes place from September 2 to 7 in Montemor-o-Novo, featuring over 300 exhibitors and a municipal investment estimated at approximately 800 thousand euros. The Mayor of Montemor-o-Novo, Carlos Pinto de Sá, and the president of APORMOR, Joaquim Capoulas, followed the preparations of the event during a visit to the fairground on Monday.

Among the novelties of this edition, the Montemor Meat Festival, scheduled for September 5, and the Day of Women Farmers, on September 7, stand out, dedicated to valuing the female role in agriculture and livestock. EXPOMOR maintains its strong livestock component, with exhibition of cattle breeds such as Charolais, Limousine, Saler, and Aberdeen Angus.

One of the significant changes relates to bullfighting. The three bullfights initially planned were cancelled due to the closure of the Bullring of Montemor-o-Novo. The Montemor Forcados Group maintains, however, a presence in the program with a demonstration of bull handling and a presentation about the group's history.

The municipal program also includes activities related to the 50 years of the Constitution of the Portuguese Republic, with emphasis on the Republic Café and initiatives aimed at schools. The official inauguration is scheduled for Wednesday, September 2, at 9:30 PM.
