Lieutenant-General Marco Serronha expressed his belief in the possibility of a diplomatic understanding between Iran and the United States, stating that a peaceful solution is always achievable. However, he warned about the difficulties that exist in the negotiation process between both parties.
According to Serronha, both the radical wing of Iran's Revolutionary Guard and the United States refuse to make concessions on the essential points that would allow progress towards an effective negotiation. This intransigence on both sides constitutes the main obstacle to resolving the dispute.
The military officer's position comes in the context of persistent tensions between Tehran and Washington, which have intensified in recent years around the Iranian nuclear program and other controversial geopolitical issues.
