BOPE operation ends with five arrested and seizure of rifle and pistol in Southwest Zone

An operation by the Special Police Operations Battalion (BOPE) resulted in the detention of five people and the seizure of a rifle, a pistol and narcotics material in the Taboinha Community, in the Southwest Zone of the city, this Sunday. The action was carried out by the Military Police of Rio de Janeiro.

According to the corporation, there was an armed confrontation during the operation. After the shots, the suspects fled into the interior of the community. The police then carried out searches in the region with the support of teams from the intelligence sector.

During the investigations, five individuals were located and detained. With them, according to the PM, a 9mm caliber pistol, a 5.56mm caliber rifle and unspecified narcotics material were seized.

The five detained individuals and all seized material were taken to the 42nd Police Station, where the case was presented and registered.
