ARMAMAR: Requalification of Praceta Sá Carneiro is Completed

SAPO Notícias12 September 2026 at 12:05

The requalification works of Praceta Sá Carneiro and adjacent roads in the town of Armamar have been concluded. The intervention also included Rua de Santa Bárbara, in the section between the Kindergarten and the Gomes Basic and Secondary School.

The overall investment of the work was 190,457.27 euros. Of this amount, 77,878.65 euros were funded by the NORTE 2030 program.

The requalification aims to improve the conditions of these public roads in the town of Armamar, providing better access and infrastructure for residents and users of these areas.

Why this matters

Residents and traders in Armamar now benefit from requalified and safer roads, following a significant investment supported by European funds. This intervention improves pedestrian mobility in the area surrounding school and children's facilities, contributing to the enhancement of the town's urban space.

Another 216 homes projected for delivery

Another 216 homes are projected for delivery in the Estreito de Câmara de Lobos region, in Madeira, in a context of growing real estate market pressure on agricultural zones. This pressure became visible when the traditional institutional harvest had to change location this year, due to the construction of a private development. The President of the Regional Government, Miguel Albuquerque, responded directly to these concerns on the sidelines of the Festival of the Harvest.
