A 53-year-old man was sentenced to 10 years in prison by the Viseu Court for sexually abusing his minor stepdaughter over an extended period. The facts indicate that the abuse occurred 130 times over time.
The defendant was found guilty of child sexual abuse, which allegedly began when the victim was still a child. The court decided on an effective prison sentence.
In addition to the prison sentence, the court decided that the convicted man must pay 60,000 euros in compensation to the victim, as a form of reparation for the damages suffered over the years of abuse.
The trial took place at the Viseu Court, where the evidence presented by the Public Prosecutor's Office and the defendant's defense was analyzed. The sentence was applied in accordance with Portuguese law for child sexual abuse crimes.
