The city of Setúbal presented its application to become the Portuguese Capital of Culture. The proposal's main objective is the valorization of memory and local history as the banners of the application.

The strategy defined by the application is not limited only to 2028, the year for which Setúbal is competing. The objective is for the project to leave a lasting legacy for the city, going beyond the cultural programming planned for that period.
