The Roman Villa of São Cucufate, located in Vila de Frades, in the municipality of Vidigueira, was selected to represent the Baixo Alentejo region in the grand final of the New 7 Wonders of Portugal.

The final event is scheduled for this Saturday and will take place in Sintra, where the new seven wonders of the country will be chosen.

The Roman Villa of São Cucufate is an archaeological heritage that includes remains of an ancient Roman villa, representing an important historical and cultural landmark of the Alentejo region.

Meet the champion samba at Beija-Flor; school is the fifth to define official anthem for 2027

Beija-Flor de Nilópolis is the fifth school in the Special Group to define its samba-enredo for the 2027 carnival, which will tell the story of pajé Zeneida Lima. Samba 13, composed by Marquinhos Beija-Flor, Claudio Russo, Chacal do Sax, Rômulo Massacesi, Júlio Alves and Léo Freire, was the winner. The work includes verses such as "From the people I am, Muiraquitã / Pajé Zeneida, sovereign, champion" and the chorus "Ê! Incorporate, Caboclo!", making reference to Zeneida's role as an activist and environmentalist in the Marajó archipelago. Four sambas made it to the final, which featured creative fan sections at Nilópolis's rehearsal ground.
