A collision between two light vehicles occurred on Friday afternoon on Avenida Bracara Augusta, in Chaves, near the exit to Curalha. The accident involved two vehicles, one with Portuguese registration and another with French registration, around 4:30 PM. Despite the commotion of the collision, there were no injuries, resulting only in material damage. The incident was attended by the Traffic Section of the PSP of Chaves, which was on site and carried out the necessary procedures to determine the circumstances of the accident.
The location is particularly sensitive and has raised concern, as it has already been the scene of other accidents. Recently, a motorcyclist lost his life precisely in that area, increasing attention on that stretch of Avenida Bracara Augusta.
Although there is signage at the location, the configuration of the road may continue to generate doubts or incorrect interpretations by some drivers, especially those who are not familiar with the area. Friday's accident once again brings to the table the need to reinforce road safety prevention at a point that, given the accidents already recorded, deserves special attention.
The PSP continues with the procedures aimed at clarifying the circumstances of the collision.
