The municipality of Sardoal brought together hunters and the Institute for Nature Conservation and Forests (ICNF) to find solutions for the wild boar problem in the region. The meeting comes at a time when the presence of these animals is described as "out of control" and is generating concern among local residents.
The mayor of Sardoal stated that hunters no longer have the capacity to store more wild boars, highlighting the seriousness of the situation. The inability to give a destination to the captured animals worsens the problem affecting the community.
