A motorcyclist was injured with minor injuries on the afternoon of this Friday, September 11, as a result of a crash that occurred on National Road 114, in the Convento da Serra area, in the parish of Raposa, in the municipality of Almeirim. The accident was apparently caused by an electrical cable that was lying on the road, which the motorcycle hit, causing the driver to lose control of the vehicle.
The alert for the occurrence was given at 2:51 PM. The victim was assisted and stabilized at the scene by rescue teams and then transported to the District Hospital of Santarém. Six operatives were involved in the rescue operations, supported by two vehicles from the Volunteer Firefighters of Almeirim and the Municipal Firefighters of Coruche.
The GNR of Almeirim took charge of the occurrence and ensured traffic control in that area of National Road 114, which was closed to traffic during the operations.
